That seems contradictory.
I guess you can just make a hash of things and not make anything good...oh its a cheap ford...right

Apparently O ptimize D river re-balances the fade/balance settings so you get stereo effects focused around the driver, while O ptimize A ll just disables that and reverts to a normal fade/ balance setting.

Optimize All just disables that and reverts to a normal fade/balance setting.
So it doesn’t optimize anything? :D

While you’re driving, focus carefully on everything.

It’s equally optimal for all vehicular occupants!

I, too, laughed at that phrasing when I came across it in the audio menu on my F-150.

So if I buy a Ford, it’ll optimize me? Where do I sign up?

optimize driver?
tell me that activates the ejecto seat, launches the driver in to space and starts autonomous mode

Thus not being optimal for anyone.

hahaha
im afraid if ford focii did that we would be in a lot of trouble.

No, it changes the equalization settings of the audio system. Judging by the cluster this is either an Escape or Focus, so I’m the guy who actually worked on this system. “All” means the EQ is symmetric, it’s meant to be as good as it can for all seating positions. It can’t be perfect, consider it “jack of all trades, master of none.” “Driver” means each channel is EQd individually, and each channel is aligned in time to try to present a realistic “sound stage” to the driver.
Balance and fade work the same in both modes.
I could go down the rabbit hole talking about what the NXP Dirana 3 radio processor does, but it’d just be lost on this crowd.
